Fidaleo- Ralph Fidaleo, age 72, of Stratford, beloved husband of Margaret DeRosa Fidaleo, passed away on September 24, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family.
In addition to his devoted wife of 50 years, Marge, Ralph's memory will be cherished by his three children, Donna Callahan, and her husband, Kevin, of Fairfield, Anthony Fidaleo, and his wife, Kimberly, of Milford, Ralph Fidaleo, Jr., of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, John (J.R.), Courtney, and Kevin Callahan, Jr., Antonio and Francesca Fidaleo, Ralph, Dustin, and Kayleigh Fidaleo; one brother, Joseph Fidaleo, of New Fairfield; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Letizia, of New Fairfield, Michael DeRosa, of Las Vegas, NV, Anthony DeRosa, of Cherry Hill, NJ; one sister-in-law, Catherine Pallman, and her husband, Douglas, of Milford; several nieces and nephews including James, Raymond, Thomas, and William White.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Allesandria DeBiase Fidaleo, and two siblings, Antoinette Letizia and Michael Fidaleo.
Born and raised in Bronx, New York, Ralph served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He moved to Fairfield with his wife and family, and resided there for 40 years until settling in Oronoque Village in 2002.
His strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to warmly communicate with those he worked with all contributed to a long, successful career in the food industry. Beginning with Food Fair, in New York, and spending 20 years with Ferolie Corporation, as a vice president, he went on to establish several franchises in the Trumbull and Stamford Malls. Throughout the years, he would open Orange Julius, Tequila Billy's, Giovanni's Pizza, Pizza Frieta, Bains Deli. He also enjoyed helping his son, Anthony, with his restaurants, Antonio's, of Fairfield, and La Cucina, of Devon.
A true Yankees fan, Ralph loved his family, and especially adored his grandchildren. He will be missed by family and friends alike.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11am in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. His interment with military honor will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours have been omitted. Arrangements are in care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, of Fairfield Center.
